1996 - 2002

The Airbus A319 was the smallest member of the A320 family (now the A318 has that place). The A319 programme was launched at the Paris Airshow in June 1993. The A319 flew for the first time on August 25 1995 and service entry, with Swissair, took place in April 1996. Swissair ordered and operated a total of nine A319's, along with company A321's and A320's. Swissair was the first airline to fly all of the (then) three members of the A320 family.

HB-IPT	Airbus A319-112 # 727	26.09.1997 31.03.2002	Stadel (D-AVYC) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPT. After Swissair collapse aircraft went to SWISS, still flying there.
HB-IPU	Airbus A319-112 # 713	30.08.1997 31.03.2002	Hochfelden (D-AVYB) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPU. After Swissair collapse aircraft went to SWISS, still flying there.
HB-IPV	Airbus A319-112 # 578	25.04.1996 31.03.2002	Rümlang (D-AVYA/F-WWTA) Was A319 Prototype. Was the first A319 delivered to Swissair, as HB-IPV. On May 25th, 2000 it collided (on ground) with an Augsburg Airways DAsh 8 and had to be repaired. After Swissair collapse aircraft went to SWISS, still flying there.
HB-IPW	Airbus A319-112 # 588	23.05.1996 31.03.2002	Bachenbülach (D-AVYB) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPW. After Swissair collapse aircraft went Mexicana as N588MX. Went to Air Burkina in October 2004 as F-OOUA, then flew for Celestair in their colors. After November 2006 it flew for Air Ivoire, as F-OOUA. In June 2010 it went to Meridiana as I-EEZQ.
HB-IPX	Airbus A319-112 # 612	23.08.1996 31.03.2002	Steinmaur (D-AVYH) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPX. After Swissair collapse aircraft went to SWISS, still flying there.
HB-IPY	Airbus A319-112 # 621	18.10.1996 31.03.2002	Höri (D-AVYK) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPY. After Swissair collapse aircraft went to SWISS, still flying there.
HB-IPZ	Airbus A319-112 # 629	19.11.1996 31.03.2002	Oberglatt (D-AVYR) Delivered new to Swissair as HB-IPZ. After Swissair collapse aircraft was stored in Bordeaux until September 2003, and then sold to Lotus Air as SU-LBF, and later leased to Helios Air with same Registration. Sold to TAP in April 2006 as CS-TTQ.

OO-SSJ	Airbus A319-112 # 1305	01.09.2000 28.10.2000	Sabena (D-AVWX) Delivered new to Sabena as OO-SSJ. Leased by Swissair for a short period of time, while HB-IPV was beeing repaired after an accident. Later back to Sabena, and now with Meridiana as EI-DFA
